WORTH A WATCH ??

With social media penetrating 62% of the world’s population it’s seen almost witch-hunt-like behaviour in some news stories that have gone viral on apps like TikTok. A good example has been the way social media users have demanded Kate Middleton shows herself in public whilst she is undergoing chemo treatment.

The documentary highlights the Idaho Murders case and how many social media users had already made their mind up on who was guilty and in some cases releasing private information, forcing the police to respond publicly in an attempt to reduce harassment of innocent people from the online community - ultimately making us all question our involvement in speculation and how damaging it can actually be.

You can watch the documentary on BBC iPlayer
