As many of you know, my colleagues and are running VjAcademy , the one and only school for live video performers in the Netherlands.

This school is the live blood of our collective of a few dozen VJs, who together make up a significant part of our niche industry. VJs create and live video backdrops at concerts, festivals, conferences, fashion shows, art exhibitions and more.

Welcome to our wonderland!

Earlier this month, we organized an Introduction Day for prospective VjAcademy students, for the first time in 5 years (remember COVID...), in the wonderful ‘Melkweg’ club in Amsterdam. Two dozen attendees got an introduction to live video mixing, projection mapping, 3D animation, LED screen technology, and creative show concepting. Plus a cozy dinner afterwards.

Winning your education

But that was just the beginning. The next stage was a talent show for the Introduction Day participants two weeks later.

The most promising Aspiring VJs competed in a friendly VJ battle in?Club AIR Amsterdam. The result: an amazing flurry of different styles and techniques. and... not 1 but 8 winners. Their prize: admission to the VjAcademy.?One year of VJ training with the best VJs of Veejays.com and many other professionals - starting in September.
