Fresh start, feeling fine?
Happy New Year, Creative!
I just love a fresh start, don't you?
It can be a time of restart.
Or a time of restore.
Or a time of refresh.
Which version of this year are you leaning into?
I usually toggle between the three with a fair dose of review thrown in for good measure!
But I am never one to linger in the past.
I am much more interested in what is happening in the now. (Thank you, morning rituals, you do me right.)
So, let's jump into this moment and re-acquaint our selves, shall we?
Hi, I'm Rhianna Basore, a lifelong creative and money coach for creatives. I love helping creatives live their financial dreams while earning their true worth.
My favorite thing is watching my creatives slay their MONEY MONSTERS and I even wrote a course about it. You can check that out here: How To Slay Your MONEY MONSTERS course.
But it wasn't always so easy.
There was a time not so very long ago,
I too wondered where the next paycheck would come from.....
How I was going to pay my rent when costs kept rising but paychecks didn't...
How I would ever creating stability for myself ~ something I KNEW I needed to move forward in my creative career....
I felt so very alone. Broke and alone.
And even when things seemed good, I felt very lost.
There I was living my dream, performing all around the country, surrounded by loved ones, working on projects I believed in.
But nothing made me feel the way I wanted to feel.
Then it all fell apart.
Yup, you know this story.
My grandfather died. When I was working out of town. And I couldn't afford to fly home for my one day off to be with my family.
The worst.
My grandpa was the emotional center of my family. A jokester, a deep thinker, and the loving patriarch who kept us all feeling safe.
My loose grasp on security broke loose and I floated away.
Into a storm of uncertainty and, frankly, fear.

I doubted that I knew what the next day would bring.
I doubted my ability to take care of myself.
I doubted that I could handle what was coming next.
But I knew there had to be a better way.
I took some time away from my creative career to find what I knew I didn't know.
What I didn't learn in arts school.
What always seemed a given to others but eluded me.
What kept me from earning my true worth as a creative.
And finally, I found what was holding me back.
In the years since,
I paid off all my credit cards and student loans.
I bought my first house.
I directed my first international feature film.
I created my first web series with my production company.
I became a published author.
I produced and wrote and directed and acted.
I also started coaching. Money coaching. For creatives.
I have evolved into the person who lives the life I always dreamed. It became a personal point of pride to set new money goals for myself and meet them in ever-shorter periods of time.
All because I found the key I was missing all that time...
But more on that next time.
warm wishes & cold cash,
Rhianna
