Fresh Blues!
The recent viral pandemic has exposed the unhealthy status of the average American. In fact, the research has been clear for years that 70% of America is overweight or obese. This is just the tip of the iceberg. The poor quality of food consumed, coupled with a sedentary lifestyle, has devastated the immune system of most American citizens. Yet, the unhealthy train keeps running out of control with great momentum towards disease. Medications, procedures and vaccines are offered as "cures" to thwart this recent plague without giving reasonable education to the public as to what simple, effective measures they can take to improve their devastated immune system. People are wandering around in a daze looking for guidance, but the health authorities are failing to address the fundamentals. Fundamentals = a primary rule or principle on which something is based. Health is based on 3 fundamentals. Posture for nerve communication, muscle tone and joint motion. Exercise for cardiovascular distribution of oxygen water and nutrients. Nutrition for quality fuel. Regarding nutrition, the use of natural colors is a good motto to live by. Fresh, raw greens every day in the form of lettuces, spinach, broccoli, and asparagus. Fresh Oranges and Yellows in the form of citrus fruits like oranges and lemons. Fresh Browns in the form of sweet potatoes. Fresh Purples in the form of blackberries, eggplant and cabbage. Fresh reds in the form of red peppers and tomatoes. Fresh whites in the form of egg whites. What about fresh blues? Blueberries would be a good start. We live in a world of bacteria and viruses, They do not live in our world. Our bodies rely on bacteria on the skin and in the gut to protect us and to provide the proper environment for optimal function. When the fundamentals are not addressed, the body becomes susceptible to disease, and to viruses and bad bacteria that are known as opportunists. They attack when the body is vulnerable. The 3 fundamentals of health are crucial to maintaining a balance and to provide an arsenal against these opportunists. They are around us every moment and every where we go. They do not "leap" from one person to the next, nor are they kept contained by a thin cloth mask. They are much more prevalent and dispersed than anyone can imagine. They cannot be eradicated, or eliminated. They have always been here, and they always will be here. There is no cure. Therefore, the only real "control" we have is by paying close attention the fundamentals of building a strong immune system which is completely contingent on building the other 10 body systems to be stronger. Every immune cell is reliant on the fundamentals. Recently, the most massive dust cloud of Sahara sands traveled the trade winds to the Florida skies causing a thick brown haze, obscuring the normal blue skies. This is the thickest cloud of sand in 50 years. People are worried about breathing, yet this event occurs every year and is responsible for enriching the soil in Florida with phosphorous. Without it, Florida would have difficulty with agriculture. These fresh brown sands from Africa enhance the health of the state! Bacteria and viruses have been around since long before the appearance of humans. We evolved in their presence. Our immune systems had to adapt to them, be exposed to them, and subsequently were strengthened by them. Our bodies therefore are enhanced by them, but only if we follow the fundamentals. We must take care of ourselves and that requires effort. There is no easy way out. This morning, for the first time in 4 days, the brown veil of sand moved on, revealing blue skies again. Fresh blues! Florida is now a little bit healthier for being exposed to the Saharan sands. This year was unusual. We noticed the sands above us, even though every year they are above us but undetectable. The virus and bacteria are always around us, on us, and within us. It is up to us to exercise, maintain good posture, and eat fresh greens, oranges, yellows, browns, purples, reds and especially blues. Fresh blues! The sky has never looked more blue now that a piece of the Sahara has left. Stick to the fundamentals of health and you will appreciate all the colors more. You will also appreciate the fact that bacteria and viruses exist to challenge us to better health. It is the way the world has always been and the way it will always be. It is biological fact.
