Rather than carving out slices of public networks as in previous tests with Deutsche Telekom, NTT has deployed their Private 5G managed service at BMW's Dingolfing test bed in Germany. This is where Industry 4.0 rubber really meets the road, with manufacturers testing their production line technologies using truly private 5G networks. Exciting times!

Continuing our motor manufacturer theme this video from HPE and Infosys covers some of the key questions and considerations. Yes, it's 'spon' but it reinforces the common messages we're starting to see form in the industry 4.0 space; it's not private 5G vs Wi-Fi, it's a complimentary technology, robots and automation are driving adoption, as are other low-latency real-time applications like computer vision, asset location, AR augmented worker support.
