French GGP currently in the process of acquiring Dugardin group!

February 21, 2024, Catherine Leroy contributed to this report, A. R. I.

The information was revealed by our colleagues at L'argus. Philippe Dugardin is in the process of selling all of his business to the GGP group (Grands Garages du Pas-de-Calais), chaired by Jean-Marie Zodo.

The following text has been corrected and rewritten for clarity:

GGP, the exclusive operator of Renault, has plans of diversifying the distribution of its brands. However, the operation is still awaiting approval from the Competition Authority.

GGP was established by Jean-Marie Zodo in 2018 and currently has 26 dealerships in the North of France, Hérault, and Vaucluse, offering Renault, Dacia, and Alpine brands.

In 2022, GGP achieved a turnover of one billion euros, selling 22,700 new vehicles and 22,300 used vehicles.

A new portfolio of automotive brands is on the horizon.

If the takeover of the Dugardin group is completed, it will open doors to twelve other brands besides Renault, Dacia, and Alpine. GGP will also represent Ford, Hyundai, Jaguar, Volvo, Land Rover, Mitsubishi, Devinci, Shelby, Maserati, Leapmotor, Ligier, and Chatenet.

The historic operator, based in Villeneuve d'Ascq (59), ended the 2022 financial year with a turnover of €163.5 million. The group sold 4,358 new vehicles and 2,481 used cars, positioning it at 66th place in our top 100 automotive distribution groups.

Philippe Dugardin stated that the sales process is not yet complete, but he has made a personal decision to support his business with a larger and stronger group that has an interesting vision for the group's employees.
