Fremco A/S in India ??

Our Technical Sales Manager, Kenneth Filipsen, recently visited the?STL - Sterlite Technologies Limited?fiber optic factory in Silvassa, India, to conduct hands-on training for STL's cable test engineers. This training aimed to maximise performance using Fremco machines with STL cables ??

STL rigorously tests all new cable designs before full-scale production. Utilising an IEC-certified 1,000-meter test track, they evaluate push force, torque, air pressure and cable speed for each new cable. The collected data is meticulously compared to project specifications provided by customers, ensuring every cable meets STL's #high #standards.

During our visit, we had the pleasure of meeting STL's Group CTO,?Dr. Badri Gomatam, Cables R&D Head,?Dr. Sarin Kumar Ph. D., Head of NPD & Application Engineering,?Mr. Prasannakumar Pardeshi?and Product Lifecycle Manager,?Mr. Santosh Akundi. We engaged in insightful discussions on fiber optic cables, designs and the future of the industry followed by a comprehensive tour of STL's various divisions and cable manufacturing processes.

?? Interestingly, there is no standard cable type that works for the majority of customers worldwide - each country and customer has their own specifications. Even something as simple as defining the appearance of a black or red single optical fibre can vary from cable to cable.

We were shown the entire production process, starting from single-strand optical fibers of 250 microns, followed by colour coding, weaving the cable, applying the final jacket, and laser engraving the letters and numbers on the cables.

During the week, we held a conference with many internal and external STL employees, focusing on “?????????? ?????????????? ?????????????????? ????????????????" in their Gurukul auditorium. We demonstrated various fiber blowing techniques on a variety of STL cables, achieving our goal of maximizing blowing distance using Fremco fiber blowing machines.
