Freelancer #WeeklyWins 01/04/2024 - daring dog rescue results in concussion scare, 'little' Harry kept his fingers.

It's been a week in the Pilkington household, or should I say, out of it - I spent most of it on a boat in the middle of the Norfolk Broads living a very different pace of life to that which I am used to. It was lovely to slow down for a while, but I'm glad to be back at a proper keyboard and not reliant on an intermittent phone signal for my internet fix.

As most of you probably expected, I scheduled posts while I was away, so if you didn't notice I was gone, that's because I regaled you with such insights as why you shouldn't work with me , why one client DID work with me, why you should post on LinkedIn at the weekend , and how your blog posts shouldn't read like GCSE essays .

But while I was living my best life being a boat hermit, this lovely lot were racking up the #WeeklyWins in spectacular fashion.

Some of the #WeeklyWins in the last 7 days

Thank you to everyone who posts their wins - here are some of the more recent:

Berenice Howard-Smith, MA celebrated a new history memoir project , sent out episode 61 of Full Stop Community and Podcast podcast, and hosted Freelancer Magazine co-working.

Hazel Jarrett was happy to get some featured snippets in Google, some great client SEO results , and did some IRL networking.

Dee Primett worked her copywriting magic on biostatistics, manufacturing software, and received a referral to write tortoise copy

Rachel Bray was glad to get through a networking talk with no mishaps published a new blog post (Why do I need a Copywriter? ), and went swimming in the sea.

Fi Phillips wrapped up her client work for the month (which also meant sending off invoices), wrote a blog post about her Haven Chronicles novel series , and came off worse during a daring dog rescue .

Erin Buck spent time with the kids, went to a spa, and still managed to find time to take 4 enquiry calls and eat chocolate.

Sarah Burgess has been working on rebranding her YouTube channel (SarahsLearningLounge ), secured the domain name and social media handles for her new book, and celebrated the fact that 'little' Harry's fingers didn't fall off .

And me? I'm just celebrating the fact that I didn't fall off the boat .

Apologies if your #WeeklyWins didn't make the newsletter - I'm swamped by notifications and the hashtag search isn't the best at the moment, thanks LinkedIn.

Please do check out this week's wins and consider leaving a quick comment - commenting on posts helps your reach on LinkedIn as well as the author's, so it's a win-win. You can find more wins by searching for the #WeeklyWins hashtag, or clicking this handy link I made for you .

Take part in #WeeklyWins

There are 3 ways to take part:

  1. On a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, start a new post and tell everyone about a few of the wins you've had that week. They could be personal, business, or a mixture of the two. Anything goes, whether it's a great meeting you've had, a fab newsletter you've sent out, a project you've finished, or a testimonial that made you smile. Even if you've had a frankly shitty week, look for the positive bits that make it not quite so crap. Trust me, it'll cheer you up as much as the people that read it. Use the hashtag #WeeklyWins and tag me in it so I see it.
  2. If you'd like to record a #WeeklyWins interview with me, book a slot to record the interview . It's informal, pretty much anything goes, and you can do it wearing your PJs if you like. All I ask is that you're a regular participant of #WeeklyWins. DM me if you want more details.
  3. Every Tuesday PM, from 2-4.30, I run a drop in coworking session for freelancers that need a little accountability and some friendly faces while they work. It will be on Zoom, and run on the Pomodoro method, which is a quick intro, 25 minute sessions of working, 5 minute chats in between. Join for an hour, join for the whole session, cameras on or off, pop in late, leave early - it's up to you. There's one tomorrow, you can join any time from 2pm . The link will be the same every Tuesday afternoon.

And, finally

If you know someone that's struggling to post on LinkedIn, #WeeklyWins is an easy and lovely place to start without too much pressure. Please ask them to take part, and to drop me a DM if they're at all worried.

Some lovely and varied wins there. Thanks for the mention. Glad you survived boat hols. By the way, there was a second lost dog drama at the weekend. Eventually found out where it lived and returned it, but I do wish people would put collars and tags on their dogs.

What a diverse weekly wins (don’t get these in an office!), thank you ?? Nikki Pilkington ??
