Succeed Faster and with Less Stress; Experts Can Show You the Way
If you’re like most freelancers, you’re talented and you’re smart. But you probably don’t know much about running a business or finding your best freelance opportunities.
Experts who’ve been in your shoes can show you the way. Getting expert help makes it much easier to build and sustain a successful freelance business. You’ll be able to build your business faster, without learning by trial and error, and with a lot less stress.
Save Time ?
Trying to figure things out on your own wastes a lot of time. And it’s stressful. Experts offer a proven process for freelance success. They can help you manage the challenges that are part of freelancing sooner and better.?
Seize Opportunities
Experts can help you overcome obstacles and seize opportunities. They know the freelance marketplace and can help you find the best opportunities based on your background and experience.
Boost Your Confidence
More confidence is another benefit of getting expert help. That’s important because clients want to work with confident freelancers.
Get Support
Experts can tell you what’s normal in freelancing and what’s not. They can provide reassurance when what you’re doing is right and advice about what to change to make it easier to build your business.
How to Find Trustworthy Freelance Experts
Experts should have experience and success in freelancing and an understanding of the challenges freelancers face. They should have comprehensive knowledge of what they’re teaching you and?offer high-quality content for learning, including free content.
Always evaluate the experience and expertise of any expert you’re thinking about working with, even if someone you trust recommended the expert. If you found the expert on your own, be even more thorough in checking them out.
Seek Recommendations from People You Trust
One of the best ways to find real expert help is by asking people you trust for recommendations. Reach out to other freelancers who have worked with the expert you’re considering.?
Evaluate?the Expert’s Experience and Expertise?
Look for experts with a proven track record of success in their field, relevant experience, and positive testimonials and case studies from freelancers who’ve worked with them.?
Follow the Expert Before Buying Anything
Before buying anything, follow the expert for a while. Read, listen to, or watch their blogs, podcasts, videos, and other content.?
Follow the expert on LinkedIn. Read and comment on their posts. Look for useful, supportive responses to your comments, and to the comments other people make on their posts.
Walk Away from Unrealistic Promises of Success
If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
In marketing a freelance business, for example, I’ve seen promises like “Get all the clients you need in 30 days” and “Make $250,000 a year as a freelancer.” No freelancer will ever get enough clients in 30 days. And few freelancers will make $250,000 a year. I’ve even seen outlandish claims promising freelancers that they can make 7 figures a year.
Walk away from these unrealistic promises.
LinkedIn Tips: Help Clients Find You on LinkedIn by Connecting with People You Meet Here
When clients search LinkedIn for a freelancer, having 500+ relevant connections helps you rank higher in search results. Relevant connections are people who work in your industry(ies), do similar work, or are related to you and your work in another way.
One way to build your network is to invite people you meet on LinkedIn to connect with you. Follow relevant people and comment on their posts. Then invite them to connect with you. Here’s an easy template you can use:

About Lori
Hi, I’m Lori, a freelance writer who helps other freelancers get the steady, high-paying clients they deserve.
When I started out, I didn’t know anything about marketing. So I made a lot of mistakes, like marketing to the wrong clients. But because I did a lot of marketing, I was able to become a 6-figure freelancer in 18 months.
As I met other freelancers, I noticed that many freelancers didn’t know much about marketing. So I started The Mighty Marketer to help other freelancers get the clients they deserve.
