Freelance Friday: Get Naked!

Freelance Friday: Get Naked!

Hello Freelancers,

This week, I had conversations with leading coaches, speakers, and even some celebrities. One thing that stood out? They were all authentic—in a sense, they were naked. Each person, unique in their own way, stood confidently at the top of their game, unapologetically true to who they are.

What a great reminder for all of us. To succeed as freelancers, we must strip away all pretense and focus on what has meaning to us and can create value for others. Be yourself, do what you love, and bring your most authentic self to every project. Let’s explore some ways to "get naked" and embrace our true selves as freelancers.

Inspiration from Those Who "Live on Purpose"

  • Amy Eliza Wong : Author of Living on Purpose, Amy encourages everyone to align their work and life with their values and passions. In her work, she emphasizes the power of living with intention and feeling it out, not thinking it out. This is truly being authentic. • Rebecca Brandwein : As a trauma coach, Rebecca knows the importance of stripping down to the core of who you are to heal and grow. She works with her clients to help them rediscover their true selves and build a life rooted in authenticity. Learn more about her transformative coaching: Rebecca Brandwein on LinkedIn .
  • Nikki Nash: A powerhouse in the world of marketing strategy, Nikki encourages entrepreneurs and freelancers to build brands that reflect their unique voice and vision. 3 Tips to "Get Naked" and Show Your True Self

1. Embrace Your Story Your story is your power. Think about the journey that led you to freelancing, the experiences that shaped you, and the unique perspective you bring to your work. Sharing your story openly builds trust and makes you more relatable to clients who value authenticity.

2. Align Your Brand with Who You Are Your brand should be a reflection of who you are and what you stand for. If you're passionate, bold, and fun—let that show! If you're a calm, strategic thinker, bring that to the forefront. Your brand isn’t just about colors and logos; it’s about your message, personality, and values.

3. Say "Yes" to What Feels Right—And "No" to What Doesn't When you take on projects that align with your passions and strengths, it’s easy to bring your best self to the table. But if a project doesn’t feel right, be willing to say no. The more aligned your work is with who you truly are, the more joy and success you'll find in your freelance business.
