FREEDOM - Are We Really Free?

FREEDOM - Are We Really Free?

Freedom is a word that we hear so often that we begin to take it for granted. To be "free" you must have first been enslaved or constrained in some way.

"Actually, freedom consists of three main principles:

1) The absence of human coercion or restraint preventing one from choosing the alternatives one would wish.

2) The absence of physical constraints in natural conditions which prevent one from achieving one’s chosen objectives.

3) The possession of the means or the power to achieve the objective one chooses of one’s own volition.

We don’t live on individual islands, but we live in society. In society we are (or ought to be considered?) free to the extent that our actions do not harm others." (Rashan John, Pathanamthitta, Kerala, India)

Interesting thoughts, but much more complex than it needs to be. In America, our freedoms have been fought for by primarily those that came before us. We can now choose to give up these freedoms to the government, the influence of others, or our own compliancy. Or we can continue to fight for them through seeking TRUTH and using TRUTH to set us free!

Happy Fourth...may Freedom Ring!
