Take a moment and imagine what your freedom really means!

Imagine waking up, not because it’s morning, but for the fourth time this night bombs have gone off around you. You wake and see your three of your neighbor's huts across from you destroyed and all of your closest friends have lost their life. I guess you’ll hold off cutting the grass today.

Imagine one day seeing many busses everywhere in you live. Confused you see everyone slowly being taken away. As you return home there’s a bus waiting for you, your family is already gone. You’re all taken away to a place where you all are jailed and for the next year, you are brainwashed and tortured into believing everything you’ve learned is wrong and are presented with a new way, “their way” to think and live. I guess that family reunion for the holidays is on hold.

Imagine your life being so full of crime, torture, and fear that you decide to take your family and walk from North Carolina to New Hampshire with no money to find a better place to live. Even to give up your child so they can have a better life even if you can’t. No joy and happiness of a Christmas morning here.

Imagine disagreeing with the way the government is being run. So a group of you decide to peacefully protest. You meet with your friends to make plans but two are missing. As you try to call them several thugs approach and that’s your last day of freedom ever. You never see several of these friends again or your family. Well, there goes watching the football game Sunday.

This world is neither kind nor fair. But for some reason, you have been blessed with the wonderful gift of freedom. Be thankful for those that paved the way for you to wake up today to live in The United States of America. Yes, there’s a lot to disagree about and you’re most likely on one side or another. But please remember, we’re all on the right side and it’s up to all of us, as painful as it is, to keep it that way. And by the way, I wouldn’t trade any of this pain for anything above.
