Freedom was Reminding Humans of Happiness

Freedom was Reminding Humans of Happiness

I always say, “Humans are the only animals that have the capacity to know they are animals and yet every day they forget they are animals.” So, when people do things that others call animalistic, it shouldn’t be a surprise. That said, when animals do good things, we still see them as animals. Where am I going with this…well, I was in my jeep today and Freedom (my cool black lab) was peaking out the window as we stopped at a light.

This was a great moment between the two women sitting in the other car, smiling at Freedom, and enjoying that he was saying hello to them. I shared his name, that he was a happy dog and that he enjoyed making people happy as well. I could see their smiles and it was great when one replied with something I didn’t expect. “It’s too bad that people aren’t more like animals.” Yep, she didn’t say she wished animals were more like people.

The innocence, simplicity, positive energy, good vibration, the wanting to make others happy as a natural reaction to people, being present in the moment…I think that is what she was referencing in a quick comment.

In a “random” moment a bunch of people who looked nothing like each other, most likely had a very different past, and a dog’s simplicity brought us all together at a red light. It was awesome. It was the kind of experience I love having when driving with Freedom in the backseat as it happens all the time. It never happens with the same person/people more than once (unless we hit all the red lights together) so each experience is unique.

It would be great if we all got better at demonstrating our excitement for seeing new faces, whether walking down the street, in a restaurant, going to a sporting event, walking on a trail…wherever. People need this even if they can’t provide it themselves. We can positively change our vibration in an instant if we make ourselves aware in the moment.?

When stopped at a red light in the jeep I always tell Freedom to “go say hi” and he does with excitement. Hope we get to see you randomly on the road one day!

Much love and all my best,

Dave
