Freedom: The Power of Choice

Freedom: The Power of Choice

At first I did not enjoy Twitter at all, but I must admit that it has grown on me. What I did though, was spend some time aligning my algorithms' (Which I will flesh out in a piece at a later stage) and ensuring that this digital dustbin of everyone's opinion and thoughts, no matter their credibility or level of consciousness, had a filter.

Like the law of attraction, I feel that social media does not see good or bad, positive or negative, but rather gives you more of what you like or attract.

So I found positive and intelligent, sometimes even controversial profiles, and I liked a bunch of their posts plus followed more people that they follow, that also seemed to share the content that I was looking for. Almost like when they say you should surround yourself with people that you can learn from and who will push you, I try my best to do the same on social media platforms. The digital dustbin will exist, I just do not have to frequent it.

With that said and done, I scrolled across this question that made me think and in turn write about how to define freedom, or what freedom means to me, going from less than 5 words on a tweet to over 500 words in this piece.

P.S. I think this will turn into a new form of gaining inspiration for writing and content collection. So lets get into it.

Freedom is a mystical yet widely sought after value of the world. But what exactly is freedom? To me, freedom is the ability to choose what to do with your time, and to direct your life in a manner that is consistent with your values and aspirations.

For many people, freedom is equated with the absence of constraints. It means being able to do as you please, without being subject to the will of others.?Like the last piece that quotes, The privilege of the nature of your experience must be in your hand, the same can be said with regards to what you do with your time. While this is certainly a component of freedom, it is not the whole story. True freedom is not just about being able to act without interference, it is about being able to choose your actions in a way that aligns with your highest self, and to live a life that is fulfilling, meaningful and joyful.

In order to achieve this kind of freedom, it is important to develop a clear sense of who you are, what you stand for, and what you want to accomplish in life. This requires self-reflection, and the courage to be honest with yourself about your strengths and weaknesses, your values and your priorities. I am not saying you have to divulge your honesty to others, I do not even do that, however if you do not have someone that you are completely comfortable sharing this with, then at least take some alone moments to write about it, get it out, face and think about it. Then do what you want with the paper or outlet of thought, but learn from the process.

Lastly, it also requires a commitment to learning and growth, and a willingness to continuously evolve and improve yourself, Which is what Budget Your Energy is for me.

One of the keys to unlocking the full potential of freedom is to cultivate a growth mindset. This means approaching life with a sense of curiosity and a desire to learn, rather than a fixed and rigid mindset that is resistant to change. When you have a growth mindset, you see challenges and obstacles not as a threat, but as opportunities for growth and learning. You are open to new experiences and are not afraid to take risks, knowing that even if you fail, you will have gained valuable insights and knowledge that will help you to succeed in the future.

If freedom is also defined for you as, the ability to choose, then an important component of freedom will be self-discipline. As Spider Mans Uncle said, "With great power comes great responsibility'.

While freedom is about being able to choose your actions, it is also about being accountable for the choices you make. This requires developing the habits and disciplines that allow you to consistently follow through on your commitments, and to make progress towards your goals and aspirations. Whether it is working on your physical fitness, pursuing your dreams, or simply staying focused and productive in your daily life, self-discipline is a key ingredient in the recipe for success and freedom.

Ultimately, I like to believe that freedom is about taking control of your life, and making the choices that are right for you. It is about living with purpose and intention, and experiencing the joy and fulfilment that comes from being true to yourself. My intention is to tap into my inner strength, understand my weaknesses, unlock my full potential, and live a life of freedom and choice.

Freedom can be distilled into five simple words: choice, self-analysis, growth, discipline, and control. By developing these qualities I hope to be able to unlock my full potential of freedom, and live a life that is fulfilling and meaningful.
