Freedom is a Mindset

There is more than one approach to the mindset of ‘Freedom’.
One is the idea that freedom as we know it might soon be lost. There is so much going on politically in the United States. It can be a challenge that makes your head swim.
The other is the solution to the challenge, especially since challenge seems to be escalating through so many sectors of society. In my career I have always sought to focus on resolving problems, and I have had a lot of them, especially since I chose the path of independence rather than the type of security that comes with a full-time job. To me, a full-time job would have meant following someone else’s dream.
I had a dream of my own and I have always been determined to achieve it. By having the choice to pursue my dream as a business owner, I have had the freedom to listen to my inner voice and follow its lead. That freedom also enabled me to be able to make the decision not to have children once I learned for medical reasons, I had to decide at age 35.
These driving forces and challenges led me to create a system to understand myself then over a 30-year journey, turn my personal system into something that helps humanity at many levels. It grew larger than my ability to run it and I was fortunate enough to find a business partner from another country who shared my values and had CEO skills. We created another company and now my work is being communicated and built and my dream is being fulfilled.

All of these happened because I was committed to living my authentic life, as I was led by listening to my inner voice. I exercised my free will to decide not to live my life in a repetitive 9-5 job, surrounded by people who do not see the world as I do, with a dream knocking in the inside demanding to get out. I would have felt very claustrophobic, and my health would have suffered if I had gone the job route. It just wasn’t for me.
It is my hope as we move forward in this very interesting political climate, that others who are driven by a dream and choose to follow that dream and make a difference in the world, that these humanitarian dreamers be allowed the independence and freedom to pursue their passion. Freedom comes from the mindset to live the life you choose to live.
At the least, we each need to attain and maintain a mindset of freedom, using our free will to keep us in the direction of our passions. If the people lead, the leaders will follow.
Let’s lead!
