I took an extra couple of days in the Catskill Mountains to help my aunt get out of the house for groceries and lunch.

She hadn't been able to do that recently and I saved her the laborious process of afterward of wheeling stuff to the garage landing on her walker to then transfer into the house.



At nearly 80, she had figured out how to be on a mission in the store and then be able to unload and bring stuff inside without help.

It felt good to help but was a definite reminder that keeping your wits and being healthy enough to get around is ultimate freedom.
