“I owe my Freedom to Instagram” Veronika tells me softly.? “ The curator Newton Whitehurst de Castro from Portugal saw my drawings on Instagram. I ran away from Ukraine and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere in Lisbon.
We meet? at the Estrella Basilica in Lisbon.”Eight months ago I got a special permission to work here in the atrium .”?
I started painting my colorful images and took breaks to clean the garden. Volunteers supported my dream to bring the small garden to life.
“I planted some roses and herbs and last month the community used the area for a religious ceremony.? This was a dream that I couldn’t draw.”?
“Chapeau for you I” congratulate her. You show that art and nature can intersect to create something meaningful.
Her large canvases are filled with imaginary birds that she prints on the canvas, around them are blooming flowers in fresh colors, and in between she pastes golden thin papers.?
“ When i was a girl I loved music. I played several musical instruments and drew during the meals. My father appreciated my fantasies and pressured me to go to the art school. “
“ Now I thank him but then i was not so happy with all the missions in the drawing classes: To draw models realistically, for example.”
“These are my glowing stars” We are in a wide hall that looks like an archaeological. There are many missing breaks on the floor. There are glowing stars on the arches.?
“I would like that my art will be for everyone. I created a fantasy here. I hope to sell my stars. My mission is to bring my parents from Ukraine to Portugal.”
Anna, a nine-year-old girl, and her grandfather entered the hall. The balloon stars captured their hearts.
She asked Veronika about her drawing techniques.
Her grandfather suggested buying a star with her weekly allowance and i would be her first artifact.
Veronica looked at me and said. Sometimes Grandfather can suggest Freedom Future Fantazia.
