Freedom Day - 27 April 2023
As we approach the 27th of April this year, we must all remember that the freedom was provided not to one but to all.
Freedom comes in several forms and for some it was
from an oppressive Government and for others it was the freedom to study, work
and the narrative that women must be "in the kitchen and bear
children".
Women have grown over the decades into formidable forces
that can lead a business, people and a nation.
In the words of Mr Mandela, "to be free, is not
to cast off a chain, but to live in a way that is respectful and enhances the
freedom of others".
Today, I will not listen to the politicians that are
spewing hatred and racial divide for their own narratives and agendas of
elections in 2024 but I will look to my fellow South African and take a hand -
we are one and together we are undefeatable!
May no one ever be deprived of freedom again.
Happy Freedom Day to all!
