Hello all, Today I want to tell you a personal life story, I have told my colleagues already the situation and they have been with me in the process. If you know me I live with my cellphone, ( now that I am sleeping more than 2 hours ) I can assure you is in silent mode and with 5 numbers that their call can get through in case of an emergency, my partner was asking me 2 weeks prior to the event , Maura what if you stop using your cellphone 1 h after you wake up and 1 before you go to sleep and my answer was No, I cannot do that, well the universe and planets aligned and I needed to be on a meeting at 6am CT, surprise I wake up at 8am CT like is maybe 535am .... I couldn't believe myself my phone off , death and all synonyms I started to solve the situation with my calls and understand why my phone turned me off ....
1 Hour after the event
I needed to go to the office, I needed to continue my life. I started feeling incomplete, alone, and I started notice things I have never seen before from the same road I passed, after a few hours I was feeling less tense and like a new flow was arriving in my life. That night I was pleasantly calm and I told myself tomorrow I will fix this situation.

24 h after the event
Between one thing and another, I decided I had other alternatives to continue functioning without my cell. It was not as I thought it will be, was easier and simple to detached from the machine.

1 day after the event
By now I honestly my last priority was to fix my cell. Literally I chose to continue with my new life and I as feeling lighter.

2 day after the event
I see the color of the eyes of my doggies, don't get me wrong I have watched them ( in automatic pilot) but now I am truly seeing them.
3 day after the event
I am getting more things done. I am into the mindfulness of the moment. No distracted or multitasking.

4 days after the event
I am feeling healthier and I am proud I can detached so fast of something that was at all times in my life.
5 days after the event
I am focusing my attention to things I stopped given the importance they deserved.
6 days after the event
I am coming up with more poems and creative ideas.
7 days after the event
I am feeling really GOOD! Just like the song :)
1 week and 1 day after the event
I felt freedom and connection with the universe.
( I decided to try it again and this time Voila , the phone was back) I felt happy and sad, both things at the same time.
After that my phone turned on and here I am now. I am happy to say I honestly think things happen for a reason and I think I needed to see the reality that exists that is available to me and I was creating my own noise to miss out a very important part in existence. At the time , I am decreasing my use of electronics and I can definitely testify you can feel the impact. If you are not like me, I am glad you read this, I won't ask you no to judge me but I needed to tell what happened to me and if you are like me, I invite you to try it and share it with others, you never know who will you inspire.

4 个月?? ?? ?? Congratulations, Maura Abad! I used to live on technology as well. It was not healthy so I began taking baby steps to stop the addiction. I began by doing technology fasts. Started by turning off all alert notifications. Then Uninstalled nonessential social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn for over a year. Emails and texts were the next step, which was harder. Now I only check them 2-3 times and avoid checking on weekends. Social media reinstalled, but still no alerts for any so I only check occasionally. My journey has been a long one about 7 years of working to find balance with technology usage and working remote does not help the cause. However, since I have the freedom to manage my own time it has been remarkably easier to find focus time to accomplish ?? big dreams that bring meaning to my work/life with the use of technology yet it no longer controls my existence. Every day is a new chance to find more balance someday will be better than others so ?? don't give up.
