The Freedom Of Being An Entrepreneur

The Freedom Of Being An Entrepreneur

I love the passion and energy of entrepreneurs. I find them the most interesting people. I can talk to them for hours non-stop about their venture. The entrepreneurial DNA is such that it makes people willing to take risks and go through hardships that others simply won’t even think of.

At their core, entrepreneurs are creative problem-solvers. There’s a growing awareness that entrepreneurs are driving the world’s progress, but what is it that really motivates people to go off on their own with no guarantee of success or even income? Freedom supposedly is what motivates them. And this freedom comes in different varieties:

  • Freedom Of Working On Things They Love: Who does not want to make a career out of things they love to do? Entrepreneurs get their motivation from their wish to spend their working life doing what they really enjoy doing. That also grants them the freedom to spend their time in their own way.
  • Freedom Of Being Their Own Boss: We all get to learn a lot from our bosses. While a great boss teaches us compassion, problem-solving, time management, dealing with difficult situations the not so great ones teach us about the managerial paths we must avoid. Good or bad, an entrepreneur is free from having a boss. And most entrepreneurs love their freedom of doing things their own way.
  • Freedom Of Spending Time Their Own Way: Perhaps the most sought after freedom is that of spending your time in your own way. Yes there are deadlines and targets to be achieved, but when you are working on things you love you do not mind, spending a few extra hours in office. An entrepreneur can choose to work in the night instead of the day. They can work on weekends and spend weekdays at their luxury. And that is an ultimate luxury.
  • Freedom To Fail: Certainly there are risks to starting a business or launching an initiative, and successful entrepreneurs embrace calculated risks as an integral part of their successes. While failure is never the desired outcome, it’s a critical part of learning and growing. It features in most entrepreneurial journeys.
  • Freedom Of Enjoying Success: Entrepreneurs take risks, whether it is to change the world or change their own lives. And when they succeed, they owe that success completely to themselves. When they succeed, they have all the rights to gain from the fruits of their risk, effort, and ingenuity.
  • Freedom From Worrying About The Money: Entrepreneurship implies that you never have to worry about money. You might not have a lot of money right now. But there’s no ceiling on how much money you can make for doing a great job, for coming up with valuable new solutions or inventions. And if your efforts generate money, you don’t want anyone dictating how much of that money you can keep. Just not having to think about money brings a freedom that is a joy.
