Free review copies of our book - 10X AI developer - Understanding the value in human AI collaboration

Introduction

In our teaching at the University of Oxford, me and Anjali Jain developed an end to end methodology for creating and prototyping an AI (ML/DL) application. We also shared this as a book in class.

After the teaching, we plan to release this book more broadly.

However, we plan to make an addition to this book

For this addition, we want to work with a small group? to test the hypothesis below.??We will share the book with you - and show you how to develop an end to end application using Gen AI.? Following this, we will conduct a survey

We are trying to address an important question:

In an AI assisted scenario (in this case for application development) - how do you determine the value - and the perception of value - of humans and AI working together?

Background

As a part of our Erdos pilot - Anjali and I have been mentoring Clément YUNES

For his PhD - Clement is trying to understand the value in a consulting scenario when both the user and the consultant have access to (maybe similar) AI tools

In this case, the knowledge arbitrage shifts in favour of the end user because AI empowers the user also now.?

While Clement is interested in the question of a consultant and a client - we are interested in the wider question of where the perception of value shifts when AI works with humans. The survey (after you build an application) covers both these cases

Methodology

We are using service dominant logic as a technique to understand the value in co-creation

Service-Dominant Logic (S-D Logic) is a framework that shifts the focus from goods to services as the basis of economic exchange. S-D Logic proposes that value is co-created through interactions between producers and consumers, rather than being embedded in products.?

In this scenario: All businesses are service businesses. Even when goods are sold, their value lies in the service they enable.

This could apply to three scenarios

AI assistance / copilot

Service-Dominant Logic (S-D Logic) applies naturally to AI Copilots—AI agents working? alongside humans—because the core idea of S-D Logic is value co-creation through service exchange and resource integration. In a copilot scenario, both the AI and the human bring unique capabilities to the table, creating value together rather than the AI simply delivering a pre-packaged solution.

An AI Copilot is not just a product but a service-based experience where value emerges through interaction. S-D Logic helps shift the mindset from "delivering AI solutions" to "co-creating intelligence between AI and humans", making AI copilots more useful, adaptable, and human-centered.

Single user Autonomous AI agent

You can extend this to an autonomous AI agent that works with a single user, S-D Logic still applies because value is not embedded in the AI itself but co-created through interactions between the AI and the user. Even though the AI operates autonomously, its value emerges contextually, based on how the user engages with it.

Multi user autonomous AI agents?

In multi-user autonomous AI agents, value co-creation happens dynamically across a network of interactions. S-D Logic helps shift the focus from "AI as a product" to "AI as an evolving service that integrates multiple user contributions".

Note that we are initially only going to work with the copilot scenario

Conclusion

If this idea appeals to you - please message me. We can only work with a small set of users - and you get a free book and a free training on how to create your AI app end to end.?

I also believe that we are addressing a very significant problem here - as we move to a world where many tasks with be AI assisted

This project looks really valuable, especially in exploring how AI and humans can work together in application development. I appreciate the initiative and look forward to seeing the insights that come from it!

We were one the first to dig into Consumer-based AI programs for problem solving vs modeling analytics of personal/confidential business data. I have noticed significant changes geared toward the positive accuracy of such Copilot releases. As we rapidly progress down this road of more accurate models, it seems necessary to release the complete set of publicly available datasets and document results. As an example, somewhat easier cases of illness, often Diagnosed by family medicine [US]), can be often accurately diagnosed by Copilot Models, given accurate patient history, proper presentation of symptoms and current disease course. It would seem prudent to keep the majority of initial AI development within business entities where the legal profession can hold folks accountable as soon as rules of the road are accepted by reputable AI Companies. Just some food for thought and real debate. It seems unlikely most governments will be able to come to the rescue of those where issues equal harm.
