?? Free resources and events, DRS, challenges, adapting workplace culture, vacancies and more - April roundup 2024

Welcome to the April roundup from Local Partnerships LLP that includes highlights from our recent publications and sector leading commentary. ?

Against a backdrop of intense public scrutiny in sustainability and recycling, on 25 April the government published its announcement on the Deposit Return Scheme for drinks containers. It confirmed the scheme will now go live in 2027 with Louise Cowan MCIWM (Bradney) Director?from Local Partnerships outlining what this?news?means for the public sector.? ?

The exceptional financial environment alongside political uncertainty means that operational effectiveness is high on the agenda for every leadership team in local government. At TheMJ Future Forum event this month, Local Partnerships’ chief executive Adele Gritten , facilitated a discussion on what could be done to sustain innovation and deliver operational improvement. Attended by chief executives and senior managers from a range of Local Authorities, the discussion included a robust call for central government to do more. You can read the full write up?here. ?

One of the recurring themes for every organisation is how to create strong workplace culture specifically how to adapt to the ways in which people want to use office space post pandemic. We’ve been exploring how the public sector should adapt in our webinar series?‘Offices for Good’. The next instalment takes place on Thursday 9 May at 11am with workplace experts from @remit consulting? discussing latest data into how people are returning to their workplaces. We will be following up on this at an exclusive event at?UKREiiF?later this month.? ?

And finally… at Local Partnerships we are passionate about our role in supporting the public sector to transform, sharing best practice and innovation. Our brilliant communications team is now expanding and we are hiring for both an?Events Coordinator?and?Digital Content/Graphics Producer. Please do share on with anyone that could be interested! ?

Thank you for your time. If you have a suggestion or question for us, please get in touch.?
