I truly believe that if you’re passionate about something and eager to learn more about it, the world really is your oyster! So, to help those enthusiastic marketers out there who are either at the early stages of their marketing career, are on furlough or unfortunately have been made redundant, here’s 10 free (yes – free!) marketing resources you may find useful. Be a sponge and absorb all the knowledge you can…whilst you can!
Google Garage: 26 modules on digital marketing (40 hours in total)
Focused on digital marketing, you’ll gain an understanding on how Google works, the difference between organic and paid searches, and the importance of SEO and how to apply it using keywords. This course also touches upon Social Media, content marketing, email marketing, making the most of video, and Google Analytics.
What I like most about Google Garage is that you get a certificate at the end! After spending 40 hours on this, this is the type of reward you deserve! ??
Hubspot – Learn what content marketing is and how to do it (6:12 hours in total)
Although Hubspot is one of the many automation tools out there, Hubspot also offers a lot of free online learning resources which are easy to follow and totally relevant for any marketer.
Skillshare: Become a better blogger: content planning (12 lessons -57m)
Got a passion for writing? This training course helps you create a content plan providing tips on how to become a blogger that is relevant for your target audience.
Shaw Academy
Shaw Academy is offering a number of free courses during the lockdown. You will need to subscribe before starting your free trial. Think of this as though you’re trialling Netflix or Amazon Prime – you can cancel at any time!
- Photoshop skills will come in handy for any marketer
- Intro to Social Media
- Digital marketing (some of this may be repetitive if you’ve completed Google Garage but you may pick up some extra tips)

Learn how to create engaging and successful online content.
Future Learn: Digital Skills – Social Media (2hours)
I’ve seen Accenture present at a marketing event I attended last year – these guys are great! This course will help you starting to think more business minded when it comes to using social media.
Facebook for Business Learning
Facebook offers lots of free quick courses to understand Instagram and FB including how to run ads and business pages.
LinkedIn Learning
LinkedIn provides a fountain of knowledge within its LinkedIn Learning hub covering all aspects of sales and marketing. You will need to pay for this one however it’s worth taking advantage of the free month trial!
