Free goodies on their way to schools
Lots of lovely free teaching resources are on their way to new teachers this week, as our Gear for the Year programme rolls out across the country, putting bags of them into the hands of primary PGCE students as they complete their training and move on to their first teaching posts.
Here are schoolzone stalwarts, Alex and Nick, delvivering them to Exeter University on Friday:

Students have been delighted with the freebies - and with the bags themselves, which are high quality, heavy duty cotton, with plenty of space and pockets, making them perfect school bags.
Our schedule of bag drops includes:
- Christchurch Canterbury
- Wolverhampton
- University of Chichester
- Manchester Met
- UWE
- Worcester
- Oxford Brookes
- Wolverhampton
- Bath Spa
So you can see we're getting about a bit! But that's just the end point - we've also spent hours organising and packing just so that new teachers have some great resources to get them started in their new careers. Alex and Amy in particular have been BRILLIANT.
What do schoolzone get out of it? Well, this is really a research project: we're asking our students to take the resources into their new schools next term, use them in the classroom, and then tell us what they think.
Our blog will feedback on their responses next term - so watch this space.
