IS FREE TO GOOD TO BE TRUE ?
IS FREE TO GOOD TO BE TRUE?

IS FREE TO GOOD TO BE TRUE ?

In most cases, what’s advertised as?FREE?actually comes with a sufficient number of caveats to nullify what we expected would be free.??

“Call today and receive a FREE bottle of Doctor Delirious’ Miracle Elixir!”??Why not call, it’s for free.??Of course, when you call you find out the free bottle comes with your order of a twenty-nine-year supply of the Miracle Elixir.??

How about the one-year free subscription to?“Everybody’s ’Be Popular’ Magazine.”??And of course, you subscribe with the intention of cancelling your free subscription at the end of your one-year free subscription.??At the end of the year, when you notify the magazine that you no longer want to receive further editions, you receive a staggering bill for the entire year.???That’s what you wrongly believed was the completely free subscription.??The first year is completely free, but only if your subscription is renewed for an additional fifteen years.??If you subscribe for twenty-five years instead of just fifteen you receive a free cotton oven mitt with your name embroidered on it.??The bad news is you don’t get to choose the color of the oven mitt.?

So naturally when you hear something is free you immediately think,?“Oh no, I’m not going to get trapped into this ‘It’s Free”?gimmick?again.??That’s reasonable, I certainly can’t fault you for feeling that way.

Okay then, here’s something that’s?FREE?and there is no gimmick tied to it.??Yeah, I know, you’re waiting for the other shoe to drop.??What’s the hidden gimmick???What do I have to buy this time that I’m supposed to believe is absolutely free?

For the past five years or so I’ve been giving Pro Bono, free, complimentary consultations to my new Linkedin connections.??It’s pretty much the same thing I did at S.C.O.R.E., for the Small Business Administration . . . advising sales and managerial professionals, so they or their staff could reach their full potential and their assigned goals.??Now, here’s the real shocker; the consultation is given without any sales pitch whatsoever.??That’s right, it’s actually free and you won’t be subjected to a sales pitch.??Unfortunately, the truth is there are two caveats.??My Linkedin connections will only be given one complimentary consultation and that consultation is for one-hour only.????????

Why am I taking the time to explain all of this???It’s really simple, rather than constantly repeating myself,?“It’s free and there won’t be a sale pitch”,?it’s easier to write this once and eliminate the “FREE?” queries.

Why am I even offering a free one-time consultation to my Linkedin connections???This answer is simpler yet.??My wife told me it’s about time I ‘paid back’ for the prosperity I’ve enjoyed from consulting.??Simple, huh??

“David Richman recently gave me an hour of his time. During that interval, he armed me with new skills to utilize in the competitive job market. Those 60 minutes contained such valuable, concise and educational advice that I left our meeting, thinking, "WOW"!! What Mr. Richman had just shared amounted to a day's worth of classes at a group seminar. I was lucky enough to have Mr. Richman's undivided attention, minus a group of other students. He provided information tailored to my own personality, based on his astute assessment of areas where I clearly needed improvement. While Mr. Richman has a commanding presence, he is also extremely kind hearted. If you feel you need motivational guidance, as well as education with your business delivery in the job market, make an appointment with Mr. Richman immediately! “??
