Free Event: Bullying and the Resilient Child

Join National Education Association and the University of Findlay in a conversation featuring Bob Sornson, Ph.D., entitled: Bullying and the Resilient Child - How We Can End Bullying in our Schools and Communities.

Bullying exists in the world. We are surrounded by examples of bullying behavior in the media, in politics, and among adults in our communities. But if we want our students to learn at optimal levels we must build classrooms in which students are emotionally and physically safe, and in which students have learned to stand up for themselves and for others.

There are some children who will experiment with bullying, and others who are vulnerable. In this workshop we will learn to build a classroom culture in which students feel safe and connected, recognize and reject bullying, and know how to stand up for themselves and for others. We will understand why building classroom culture and student character are high priorities for learning, and we will make a commitment to helping students develop the self-regulation and empathy that lead to a lifetime of success.
