Well, at least Free Energy Code!

The National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2017 (NECB) is an important step toward Canada’s goal of achieving ‘Net Zero Energy Ready’ buildings, as presented in the Pan-Canadian Framework. To further support these goals, Codes Canada is launching a pilot for free online access to the 2017 NECB .

The 2017 NECB was published in December 2017 as an interim edition of the developed by the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC), in collaboration with NRC and NRCan, in response to proposals received that improve the overall energy performance of buildings.

This is timely Jason Urquhart, P.Eng. as I am delivering a 2-day Energy Efficiency OBC SB-10 course in Peterborough. This morning I was showing students the on-line available read-only access to Ashrae 90.1 but telling them we don't have the same access to the Canadian NECB 2015 version called up in our 2012 OBC, SB-10. Seeing you giving access to the 2017 version may open up access to other versions referenced in the various Provincial building codes.
