3D Systems Introduces Figure 4? Tough Clear Material
If you thought that the materials couldn't get any better, 3D Systems just announced the Figure 4? Tough Clear. The Figure 4? Tough Clear is the first material of its kind in the 3D Systems portfolio and provides excellent clarity, strength, and compatibility. After enduring 8 years of indoor and 1.5 years of outdoor testing, the material proves itself worthy for applications such as fluid or gas flow, end-use manufacturing of high volume, small plastic parts, and fast-moving consumer goods and packaging.
The 3D printing of clear components is extremely cost-effective during the product development process. Notably so, prototypes using Figure 4? Tough Clear withhold a longer lifespan and can be reused for longer periods of time. However, it doesn't stop there. The Figure 4? Tough Clear has the extraordinary ability to go from a prototype to production part with ease. This can be seen in applications such as lighting covers, cases, or reflectors, as well as in lenses or light guides which may require clear and/ or transparent aesthetics.
