Free of Charge - PAS128 Utility Mapping Course for Job Seekers

Sygma Solutions Ltd has been fortunate enough to come through the lockdown in a healthy position with all our team in place.

Unfortunately, others have not been so lucky with many losing their jobs in other sectors.

The Utility Mapping and surveying sector for a long time, has been looking to bring people into the industry and with so many losing their jobs it might be a good time for them to look at moving into this sector.

For all my working career I have been lucky enough to be involved with utility detection.

Sygma Solutions was established in 2005 and we have built a business from the support of the sector.

The whole team at Sygma have agreed that we should now give something back.

I am therefore delighted to announce that we have put together a COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE training package for job seekers looking to move into the utility mapping sector.

These individuals will benefit from our full PAS128 TSA Approved Utility Mapping training course and level 3 qualification. 

The programme will be delivered by our team of professional instructors at Sygma Solutions Ltd along with guest trainers and product specialists from Mala & Leica who have also agreed to kindly offer their time for this project. Between us, delegates will get the benefit of an exceptional training package along with the chance to use multiple equipment types setting them off on the right foot in their new career.

Experience is just as important as training and while we cannot provide the experience, we hope that by giving people a starting foundation with our training course and qualifications it helps them find work with a utility mapping company, where they can be mentored and become a Utility Surveyor.

The programme will consist of 

• PAS128 Level C & D Training
• Level 3 Qualification registration
• PAS128 Level B – EM Training 
• PAS128 Level B – GPR Training 
• Full Practical Assessment and report on completion
• Certificate on passing the course
• Follow up sessions as required to complete the Level 3

Depending on numbers, the course will consist of theory sessions either online or at Wigan and Practical sessions at Wigan. We hope to run the course over no more than 2 weeks to allow delegates to move into a new position as soon as possible.

Just because there is no charge for this programme does not take any value away from it.

I am loathed to call it ‘FREE” it is paid for by Sygma, Mala, and Leica’s time/resources and the enthusiasm and dedication of this collaboration who are all up for providing this. It is a full training product.

Utility Mapping companies who are looking to recruit new people are encouraged to get in touch so that we can provide your details to our delegates on completion of the training.

If this pilot is successful we will run this a few times a year

To avoid any abuse of the programme there is strict criteria for entry

• Applicants must be out of work at the moment (proof may be required)
• Must also be available and free to undertake the training course at Wigan.
• Have a basic understanding of what the role of a utility surveyor would require and show a desire to join the industry (a little research might be needed)
