'FR&DA HOME-INDUSTRY INITIATIVE EMPOWERING WOMEN SELF-HELP GROUPS (SGHs) TOWARDS ATMANIRBAR BHARAT'

Smt. Lalita Tigga, Block Development Officer re-designated as Special Officer /Administrator, Panchyati Raj Institutions, Great Nicobar Island, while inspiring and guiding the Women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to take up making all kinds of utility items of daily use, emphasized the value of best quality items at lowest cost for market acceptability at a simple gathering in the Campbell Bay Community Hall on Sunday 25th April 2021 at 4.30 pm following strict Covid protocol.

Welcoming the excellent initiative taken by Smt. Lalita Tigga in motivating the SHGs, the Guest of Honour Prof. Balu Prakash, Founder Chairman & Director General, Futures Research & Development Academy (FR&DA) promised full support for the steps to be taken by the SHGs for their successful transformation into contributors for Atmanirbar Bharat. FR&DA would help them open a Atmanirbar Bharat Center at Zero Point to showcase all their products and appoint 2 selected candidates among them to run the ANB Center, paying the rent and their monthly salaries. Prof. Prakash also offered to advance payments to Members of the SHGs to buy raw materials and other items that would be required for making the various handicraft and homemade products, which they could repay after selling their produce. He also thanked them for their enthusiastic participation even during the pandemic and wished them the very best in their path breaking endeavor 'Going Vocal for Local'.
