Fraudulent Guru’s?
Meet Paul Mac

Fraudulent Guru’s?

In today’s world, there are countless approaches to leadership, with numerous playbooks, methodologies, and frameworks. Despite this, I've read and studied influential thought leaders and have been mentored by successful authors. Because of books and learning, I have found my purpose and passion and am a better leader.

However, the world doesn't need another leadership book or platform-centered influence a.k.a. "Fraudulent Guru’s."

Checkout my conversation with my new friend, Paul Mac from London.

"Instead, we need a straightforward, honest conversation about what's not working in leadership and how to evolve it. The leadership industry is worth $400 billion annually, driven by outdated philosophies that don’t keep pace with future needs."

I asked Paul during this conversation, "Are you tired of our culture's obsession with influence, platform, and ego?" How do you find inspiration to adapt from what you have learned from thought leaders with your own voice and vision?"

His answer is worth following.

"My work wasn’t influenced by existing methodologies but stemmed from my personal reflections on why I was fired and the trends on the horizon. I noticed that we say we want leaders who think differently, but they often get into trouble for it. No current leadership program encourages this kind of thinking. This realization led me to develop the F.I.R.E.D. methodology."

In a world dominated by sound bites and brief attention spans, it's time to acknowledge that traditional approaches haven’t worked. I advocate for a new approach, even if it makes people uncomfortable. I’m motivated to create environments where future leaders are celebrated for traits that currently marginalize them.

Paul said, "…my goal is to foster real, systemic and sustainable change"

I value learning from thought leaders; however, the need for inspiration, not just influence, is more crucial today. This is why I am so passionate about sharing insights from my conversations with authors and emerging thought leaders like Paul.

I enjoy promoting and sharing success with people.

Instead of repackaging the same content, we must address the real needs of modern leadership.

There's too much noise, and it's time for a new, authentic approach. People are boring or burning out.

There is so much noise today.

Paul is an author and global thought leader creating the conditions to reimagine, reinvent, and regenerate the future of leadership. In a crowded space, Paul brings a unique, freshly disruptive, bold, yet evidence-based, experiential, and experimental approach that is shifting the narrative within and beyond organizations about the future of leadership and work.

We connected by exchanging similar ideas and curiosity about the future of "leadership." Both of us agree that if you are hyperfocused on your influence, you will never be able to be inspired to face a crowd, team, or organization that may be too timid to change or innovate with inspiration.

I asked, "How do you overcome rejection and the fear of losing your job if you have a different perspective than the group?"

Real Life Challenge: I learned to adapt influential ideas, not merely adopt them.

Prior to this, Paul’s career in management and leadership consulting spanned over 25 years and included over 100 organizations within over ten industry sectors.

His focus in this field has been developing leaders and their capacity, capability, and competency, and he has supported thousands of leaders globally.

He also supports clients in business transformation, organizational design, and talent management.

Paul still consults in a senior-level advisory and delivery role.
