Francois Legault: The Savior of Canada

Trudeau's acquiescence to Francois Legault's de facto declaration of independence is testament to his actual electoral frailty.

Francois Legault, is a different kind of sovereigntist. I and others speculate that his path to "independence" is the exact opposite of the PQ model. Theirs's was akin to the teenage daughter who wants to move out from her parent's while having them still pay for everything. Legault is far more pragmatic, and likely to succeed. His model is build Quebec into a fiscally responsible economically formidable entity. He will denude down any tangible influence Ottawa has, and if he formally severs ties it will be for the imagery of independence.

Justin Trudeau, through his malevolent policies has done more in 6 years to flame the real fires of Western alienation and separatism than his father did in an entire career. Western Canadians and their leaders rather than follow the traditional knee jerk reaction of castigating Quebec (and it's leaders) for having their cake and eating it to should admire them and in fact emulate them.

There is nothing stopping Premier's Kenney and Moe (and maybe Pallister) from standing up together and declaring their intention to succeed from Confederation. There is nothing stopping Erin O'Toole from standing up and saying the way to a more prosperous and unified Canada is to decentralize power and negotiate autonomy on a broad range of issues with the Provinces. Quebec might decide to sign the Constitution. If not, the political result is the same, federal power in Quebec is broken and it is quite likely that the need for Parliamentary representation by the obnoxious Bloc Quebecois might come to an end. Premier Legault could anoint the appropriate representatives, or send no one at all.

Without Quebec and the West the Trudeau kleptocracy will be left to bribing the 416, 905, 604 and Maritimes with a dramatically reduced purse. Trudeau will rightly be seen as the man in singly destroyed his father's legacy and quite likely Confederation. A new truly confederal Canada would see the end of state sponsored political correctness, likely the expensive boondoggle of bilingualism, transfer payments and a whole host of redundant and abused policies and programs.

So my friends in the West, to which I march in step with, Francois Legault is not your enemy, he is your roll model. The end of Trudeau is not coming, despite best intentions from Calgary, Edmonton, Regina or Saskatoon, it is coming from Quebec City, Francois Legault, potentially the Hammer of the Liberals, and savior of Canada.
