France - A Country Partner at Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024

The Consulate of France in Pondicherry & Chennai and The Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IFCCI), is proud to announce that France was one of the Country partners for Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024, this is the third time France is partnering, since its creation in 2015 and again in 2019. We are also proud to announce the organization of an exclusive France Country Pavilion at the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet (TNGIM) 2024. This significant initiative aims to foster economic ties between India and France, specifically with France and Tamil Nadu while showcasing the prowess of French companies in Tamil Nadu, a region with long standing historic, cultural, and business significance.

Tamil Nadu, boasting the second-largest state economy with a GDP exceeding $300 billion, stands out as India's most industrialized state, housing over 130 Fortune 500 companies. With an ambitious goal to achieve a Trillion Dollar Economy by 2030, the Government of Tamil Nadu organized the flagship Global Investors Meet (TNGIM) on January 7th & 8th, 2024, in Chennai.

France and Tamil Nadu: Strengthening Bilateral Relations

France is a major source of FDI for India with more than 1,000 French establishments already present in the country. France is the 11th largest foreign investor in India with a cumulative investment of USD 10.49 billion from April 2000 to December 2022 which represents 1.68% of the total FDI inflows into India according to data provided by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Tamil Nadu and France, sharing a long-standing history have for decades played a pivotal role in nurturing mutual historic, cultural, and business ties. Currently home to more than 170 French subsidiaries, Tamil Nadu serves as a key destination for French companies in India.

In a joint effort to support and promote French businesses in Tamil Nadu, the Consulate General of France in Pondicherry & Chennai, along with Team France in India (comprising the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IFCCI), Regional Economic Service for India and South Asia - Embassy of France in India, Business France, Alliance Fran?aise of Chennai, French Foreign Trade Advisors (Conseiller du Commerce Extérieur de la France - CCEF), and French Tech India), presents the French Pavilion at TNGIM 2024.
