PROJECT HIGHLIGHT: Walters Group Begins Steel Installation at the Freedom Mobile Arch

Steel installation is now underway at the new Freedom Mobile Arch in Vancouver, BC. Walters Group has commenced the placement of temporary shoring towers as part of this significant project. We are responsible for supplying and installing the steel arches and metal decking for the amphitheatre’s fa?ade and canopies.

The 10,000-seat venue, featuring the world’s largest free-span timber roof and panoramic views of the North Shore Mountains, will host concerts, festivals, and more. With private suites, VIP seating, banquet rooms, and eco-conscious LEED design, it sets a new standard for modern, sustainable entertainment in Vancouver.

SAFETY: Walters Group Joins the Construction Safety Research Alliance (CSRA)

We are proud to announce that Walters Group has joined the Construction Safety Research Alliance , a collaborative community of industry leaders and experts dedicated to improving safety in our industry.

Walters Group is proud to be contributing to the “Safety Starts with Design” initiative. This project explores tools and practices that support risk management and enable the effective design of safe construction operations during pre-construction planning.

IMPACT: Walters Group and Ogwehoweh Skills and Trades Training Centre Announce Joint Venture Program for Aspiring Metal Fabricators

Walters Group is thrilled to announce a renewed partnership with Ogwehoweh Skills and Trades Training Centre (OSTTC) for the launch of our joint venture program, Introduction to Metal Fabricator (Level 1). This program aims to provide students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in metal fabrication through a paid internship at Walters Group while completing their 15-week course at OSTTC.

The program, designed for students interested in pursuing a career in metal fabrication, combines classroom learning with practical experience. Students will gain essential skills such as fabricating and repairing carbon steel, interpreting engineering drawings, and applying math to real-world projects.

IMPACT: Walters Group Participates in McMaster's Heavy Construction Night

Walters Group proudly participated in McMaster University’s Heavy Construction Industry Night, represented by alumni Tyler Fish and Kyle Irwin , along with current co-op and McMaster student Kathleen Beckenhauer .

Our team connected with students, shared insight about careers in the structural field and highlighted the exciting opportunities at Walters.

The evening included inspiring speeches, engaging networking sessions and interactive booth activities. Thank you McMaster Heavy Construction Student Chapter for having us. We are proud to support and inspire the next generation of leaders!
