A framework for leadership success: how team leaders skip the tough lessons and accelerate results

Leaders are often thrown into the deep end of leadership without fully developing the skills that make them successful. They have options at this point: put in a LOT of hard work, figure it out via guess work, ask for help and support or find and leverage a proven framework.?

Whether it’s building a creative and high performing team, resolving obstacles to collaboration, or truly fuelling a culture of innovation - leaders often have to learn how to do this ‘while the car is moving’.?

Organisations can have robust processes, the latest technology and agile product development methods, but if your people are not geared up to change, collaborate and think differently it is extremely hard to make any significant progress.

Here’s what you might not realise: the same behaviours that enable innovation and creativity are also the same behaviours of high performing teams.

After 15+ years in leadership development, innovation and creativity, I’ve seen a pattern emerge for leaders who are committed to building truly self-driven teams.?

Over the last year, I’ve begun the work of categorising these patterns and building this method of success into a documented framework that’s helped leaders of teams across industries become confident, effective problem solvers, leading teams who are self-driven, collaborative and productive.?

There are some common obstacles that apply to teams who are struggling.?

  1. Lack of collaboration.
  2. Churning the same old solutions over and over instead of exploring and innovating.
  3. Calendar overwhelm and competing priorities.
  4. Reactive problem solving rather than proactive decision making.

While the problems are likely to show up in a unique combination for your team, most obstacles to team performance boils down to one of these core areas.

But here’s the issue… you’re the leader. And if no one showed you exactly how to solve these problems or gave you the skills to lead through these disruptions to success - how can you expect your team to be able to, how can you lead by example and how can you be expected to get results??

Meet the Lucidity Success System

  3. Go to the wellspring of the Success System, and leverage the expertise in the areas where you need support to not only build the leadership capability for yourself, but take it and apply it to your team as well.

It’s simple, even though the work itself isn’t always easy.
