The framework I use to create my stories

When I pivoted 3 months ago to focus solely on storytelling, I rebranded with a fresh identity that truly felt like me. I hadn’t planned to spend the whole summer creating my offer, but I knew I couldn’t just throw something together and expect people to buy. So, I immersed myself in research, joined cohorts, listened to countless masterclasses, and consulted with experts. I wanted to create an offer that I could genuinely be proud of and that would resonate with my audience.
Not only that, but I also took the time to build a brand-new website that showcases my offer and services all in one place. More on that later.
While my offer is still a work in progress, I wanted to share a preview of the framework I've developed by analyzing my most popular storytelling posts. These posts not only received the highest likes and engagement but, most importantly, generated interest.
The C.A.R.E. Framework
My goal in writing stories has always been to inspire action, build trust, and create lasting connections - stories that people simply can’t ignore.
Here’s how I create stories like that using the C.A.R.E. framework.
1. C is for Connection
This is where the magic begins.
Connection is about finding common ground. It’s not just sharing information; it’s tapping into emotions, values, and experiences your audience understands deeply.
How?
A story without connection is just noise. But when you build a connection, your audience feels understood. And they want to "listen" to everything you've got to say.
2. A is for Authenticity
People can spot inauthenticity from a mile away.
Authenticity builds trust. It’s showing up as you are and not as who you think others want you to be. It’s using your own voice and not feeling ashamed of it.
Why it matters:
Authenticity isn’t a trend; it’s a necessity. Fake stories don’t resonate. Real ones do.
3. R is for Relevance
If it’s not relevant, people don’t care.
Relevance is about speaking directly to what your audience is going through right now. Their dreams, their fears, their challenges. It’s meeting them where they are.
Ask yourself:
When you make your story relevant, it shows that you get your audience. They feel understood and are more likely to connect with you.
4. E is for Engagement
This is the final step where you pull your audience in completely.
Engagement isn’t just about likes or shares; it’s creating a story that stays with them. Compelling visuals, inspiring calls to action, and a clear reason to respond make all the difference.
How to create engagement:
Engagement turns passive readers into active participants. A well-told story with a clear invitation to act leaves people excited to connect, share, or even buy.
I'm sure you've noticed by now that the letters spell "C.A.R.E."—and that’s no coincidence. I wanted to emphasize that storytelling isn’t just about sharing; it’s about creating an experience where people feel acknowledged and valued, which is at the heart of caring for others.
I’ll be sharing more about this framework in my LinkedIn posts with examples, but I wanted to give you a preview of what will become the core foundation of my new offer.
Stay tuned....
And as always, keep sharing, keep engaging, and most importantly, keep being you.
xo, Monica
