Fall, fall! Wait, come back, I'm not ready for you to go yet. I still have photos to post and like I say every year....I'll be posting fall shots up until it's acceptable to switch over to that "other" season. My pumpkins are still "good" but I may move them down to the orchard for the late night wanderers that frequently pass through to munch on.
Quick shout out to all of you who've purchased one of my 2025 calendars, I am so grateful for your support and so will Community Care For Central Hastings be when I'm sold out (30% sold out so far) and they get their donation. What? You didn't order one yet? There's still some time but remember, it's while supplies last.
In spite of me feeling like I haven't done much exploring, we actually did get out. I finally convinced the house hermit this week to come check out a place I've been wanting to go to and it's called "The Gut". The Gut (saying it makes me feel like I'm burping, that's weird isn't it?) Have any of my locals been? It's one of those spots you visit in fall. Trust me, any other time the woods are full of them pesky biting things and the road is super sketchy to drive up. This past Monday was absolutely perfect weather to go and visit it. It certainly didn't disappoint us. I have to say, I have never in my life seen so many oak trees. The ratio of oak to maple was 99:1 the actual "gut" was quite beautiful as well. Of course we were super close to the The Old Hastings Mercantile & Gallery so it was mandatory to stop in on our way home. Lillian, Jessica and Gary always support my annual calendar and I appreciate it. Those Empire apples they give away? OMG delish! Since I was technically "working" I didn't have time to do my usual "laps" of their incredible store. It's my annual ritual, lap their store a minimum of 2 times (there's like 13 rooms of items) so I will be back (warning to them lol). We finished our outing up in Bancroft expecting to whip up to the Eagles Nest for some late fall images but the gates at the bottom of the hill were shut for vehicles and there was no way I was walking up that hill to the lookout, call me lazy but #IYKYK it's brutal just to get to the parking lot. I don't care how many steps I'd have earned mountain climbing was not on my to-do list that day.
So, here we are at November 1st, November is an interesting month. I refer to it as the month of the sky. I find my camera pointing upwards in this month but before I snag any of those shots, I'll be feeding you leftover fall shots until you barf lol.
One more thing, can you go and watch my interview please? There's barely any views on it and it is entertaining if I do say so myself. Watching it will lead you down a rabbit hole to some of my other videos which can be binge watched like a Netflix series full of silly things and sightseeing (I'm rating it 9.0 on IMDB & Rotten Tomatoes lol). Gotta go, have a good weekend, thanks for reading, sharing, liking, commenting, etc etc.
Peace, love and kumbaya,
Heather
