Fragments: Filters
Just sharing some fragments of thought today, considering how our existing knowledge and worldview colour our perceptions.
That when we look for patterns and insight, we do so through the lens of our knowledge, culture, and experience. It is not a neutral filter.
That our perception of the new is contextualised by our experience of the old.
That synthesis is, itself, an act of reinterpretation.
That we are governed by biases, which may reassure us, whilst deluding us.
