Fractional Flow Reserve, that is FFR, is referred to as a procedure of guidewire-based which can accurately measure blood pressure and flow through a specific part of the coronary artery. At the time of a coronary angiogram FFR is done with a standard diagnostic catheter. The measurement of the Fractional Flow Reserve is useful in assessing the performance of angioplasty on "intermediate" blockages. FFR is nowadays considered as a gold standard for assessing whether that any particular stenosis is responsible for the inducible ischemia. FFR is measured easily during the routine coronary angiography by using pressure wire for calculating the ratio between the coronary artery stenosis to coronary pressure distal and aortic pressure under the conditions of the maximum myocardial hyperemia. This ratio represents a potential decrease in a coronary flow distal to coronary stenosis.
Market Trends: Rising number of clinical trials and regulatory approvals
Increasing focus on non-invasive FFR
Opportunities: Increasingly focusing on their R&D efforts on developing FFR products
Market Drivers: New companies are continuously seeking ways to gain approvals and launch new products in the market to improve their market share
