Frac Hits, Infill Drilling, and Protection Fracs
Hello Everyone!
I hope everyone is doing well. It’s been a busy several months for me with consulting jobs, training jobs, and work trips, but I was also able to sneak in a few fun trips as well. Due to the travel and the busy schedule, I’ve taken a hiatus from the video blog, but I’m back at it and hope to start releasing them regularly again.
When frac hits occur in an infill drilling scenario, they often times produce undesirable results for the parent well and the child wells. To mitigate the negative effect of frac hits in this scenario, operators are starting to use a technique known as protection fracs. This module, Frac Hits, Infill Drilling, and Protection Fracs, discusses what frac hits and infill drilling are and how operators are using protection fracs. Here’s the link to this module:

7 年Good post.
Open to new challenges
7 年This is a nice overview of a complex problem. It is sometimes surprising to see how far away parent wells can affect development programs.

7 年When you do a protective Frac or ReFrac on a parent well is there enough pressure to get your Frac fluid back?
