Introducing: Shirley Poot (Export Operations Department)

My name is Shirley, 29 years old and I currently work for the Export Operations department of FPS Famous Pacific Shipping Rotterdam.?

My journey here started 5 years ago. Before joining FPS I worked as a supervisor for a clothing store in Rotterdam. I was ready for a new challenge so I decided to join FPS. A big advantage for working for FPS is that I live exactly 5 minutes away from our office! Without any experience with logistics, I started working at FPS. The training that FPS provided in advance has helped me enormously to find my way within the supply chain. I started off with quoting pick up prices to our agents. This way I was able to get acquainted with the work behind the computer and our system.

After a year I moved to the Customer Service / Export Operations department where I now serve my own agents from A to Z. In the beginning it took me some time to get used to all the special rules and documentations. It made me realize that working in the supply chain is a real challenge.?

I absolutely enjoy going to work and hope to stay here and develop myself. I would like to learn several languages so that I can benefit from it in the future.

FPS offers us the opportunity to grow within the organization and helps us with various training courses.?

I love working at FPS, our working atmosphere is always good. We are a young, motivated and growing company. I also met three very good friends of mine here at the office.?

In my spare time I do a lot with my friends who are also my colleagues. We do a lot of things together such as weekend trips, going out for dinner or a drink in the city. It is a super cozy atmosphere both privately and at work.

After work, I spend a lot of time in the gym because I think that it's important to stay in shape after a long working day.?
