In my defense (and that of the kids), as a little chick BBQ looked undeniably similar to a BBQ chicken wing, and we are from Buffalo. I hope we're not going to hell for this.
As I sit here in Fowland, watching the girlfriends going about their daily activities, I can't help but chuckle as I lovingly observe BBQ chicken. Out of all the birds in the flock, she's the most unassuming and sweetest of them all. However, don't let her appearance deceive you because she's also the leader of the flock, practicing a leadership style that embodies the Democratic Leadership style by Daniel Goleman.
Democratic Leadership Style
For those who may not be familiar with it, the Democratic Leadership style is a leadership style that values the input of others and takes their opinions into consideration when making decisions. It's a style that encourages open communication, collaboration, and participation among team members. And BBQ, being the great leader that she is, knows how to make this style work for the flock.
One of the pros of BBQ's leadership style is that she is very approachable. She's not one of those leaders who sits on a high perch and barks orders at her team members. Instead, she takes the time to listen to everyone's opinions and ideas, no matter how big or small they may be. She knows that everyone has something to contribute, and by being open-minded, she's able to tap into the strengths of each individual in the flock.

Another pro of BBQ's leadership style is that she encourages creativity and innovation. She's not afraid to try new things and is always willing to take risks. She knows that sometimes the best ideas come from unexpected places, and by encouraging creativity and innovation, she's able to keep the flock moving forward. Thankfully, she's not as risk-taking as Debbie!
However, there are also cons to BBQ's leadership style. One of them is that decision-making can take longer than usual. Because she values the input of everyone in the flock, she takes the time to consider all the different opinions and ideas before making a final decision. While this can be a good thing in some situations, in others, it can cause delays that could be costly.
Another con of BBQ's leadership style is that it may not work for all types of teams. Some teams may prefer a more authoritarian leadership style where decisions are made quickly and without much input from team members. In those situations, BBQ's style may not be the most effective.
But for the flock, BBQ's leadership style works wonders. She's able to keep everyone on the same page, encourages collaboration, and values everyone's opinions. And it's no surprise that the flock is one of the happiest and most productive I've ever seen.
As I sit here watching BBQ chicken in action, I can't help but admire her leadership style. She's a great example of how effective Democratic Leadership can be when done right. So here's to you, BBQ chicken, keep leading the flock with your sweet and unassuming ways. And who knows, maybe one day I'll have the pleasure of enjoying a BBQ chicken dinner with you as the main course (comment if you read this ??, but know that I, of course, did not mean it!).
