#FourMinuteFridays - This Week at the PorterShed
PorterShed
A place to work, share and succeed together. 300+ incredible members, 55+ indigenous tech start-ups #backedbyAIB
With Valentine’s Day just gone by and the roses finally withered, it’s about time to look back on the past five days here at the PorterShed. It’s hard to believe that we’re in the middle of February - what a quick month! This week, the PorterShed was embracing its inner health and wellness buzz with the second edition of ‘Wellness Wednesday' commencing. As well as this, the NDRC Masterclass kicked off and highlighted the importance of ecosystems in startups. All of this and much more in this week's edition of #FourMinuteFridays
Yesterday, the NDRC held a masterclass based on the importance of ecosystems and their value to startups. Our very own Programme Associate, Dushyant Singh , enlightened the audience by giving insights into the PorterShed and the West region. An excellent showcase put together by the NDRC highlighting such important measures that need to be taken by aspiring business owners. Stay tuned for more masterclasses held by the NDRC. They offer a great deal of information and guidance for entrepreneurs. Stand by on our socials and watch this space for what more is to come.?
On Wednesday (funnily enough), welcomed the second offering of Wellness Wednesday, where we saw 'Align with Annmarie' talk to our members about the many uses of essential oils and stress management. Who knew the lasting effects essential oils have on our bodies and well-being? In this demonstration, Annemarie gave around samples of some of the oils she recommended to our members to try for themselves. The use of oils can help promote clearer energy, create healthy habits and set healthy boundaries - who knew? Thanks again to Annmarie! We’re looking forward to next Wednesday's discussion about ‘Managing Mental Health between Productivity and Anxiety’ with Niall Fennell and Laura Fennel.?
The monthly Blás returned yesterday with Meltd being the vendor of choice. For those of you who don’t know what Blás is, it’s a monthly community lunch her at PorterShed where all the members get a?discounted lunch from a chosen vendor in Galway, and eat it together. It’s a great way to network and try some of the best food Galway has to offer. Safe to say, we have plenty of ‘cheesy’ puns to mention but we won’t bore you with them all. Meltd offers a range of sandwiches, speciality coffees and baked treats. We’d like to thank the great staff at Meltd for their service.?
An important reminder to top off this week's #FourMinuteFriday is that AIB are hosting their ‘Galway Homes Event’ in PorterShed a Dó on Sunday 19th from 2 pm to 5 pm. Get the chance to meet with AIB mortgage advisors and a host of real estate agents who will help guide you in all things ‘mortgages’. This event is a great opportunity to meet with advisors who can explain everything from building, buying, moving or investing with mortgages. Register your interest at [email protected] or [email protected] or just turn up on the day. Refreshments will also be served!
