Hello and welcome to another edition of #FourMinuteFridays where we recap some of the highlights from the past five days. It's hard to believe that we are already nearing the end of July! Once again, we have lots to tell you about from the past few days because it's always fun to look back on what has happened, the people we've met, and the achievements our members have earned. We love what we are, and the people who make up our community - and those around our city - so it's always a pleasure to reflect and smile about what has happened recently in the heart of Galway city.
So, join us for a recap and see why so many people enjoy life at the PorterShed, and all it has to offer!
This week, we had Flogas Ireland in to our Bowling Green location, and it was great to see such a large group of them in. The team were set up in our event space for the day, and we were delighted to welcome them on site. We love welcoming new faces in through our doors, and the Flogas group were a real treat to have on location. We made them feel right at home, and the barista-style coffee was flowing throughout the day. A few of their group even took a tour on some of the Flogas-branded Brite e-bikes that were stationed outside our premises, and it was fantastic to see. You're welcome back here any time, folks!
Several hot-deskers continued to come through our doors this week, and we enjoyed welcoming them in to make use of our amazing spaces. We had people from close to home - and those from further afield - in to our two locations, and it's always lovely to see people from all nations using the PorterShed's facilities. Make sure to keep an eye on our socials next week because we'll be announcing an important offer on our hot desks, which is sure to go down a treat with so many people - after all, we want to make sure more people get to enjoy the PorterShed experience throughout the summer.
We also had some very welcome visitors from PorterShed corporate member Keltie this week, and we were thrilled to welcome them on site. We love the Keltie crew, and they are doing super work right now, so it's great to offer them the space to work and meet up as a collective - especially now that things have started to open up so much more.
A number of publications featured our fun equine-themed photoshoot this week, and it was great to see the Connacht Tribune and Galway Bay FM news sharing the content out online. Aoife Cheung, Anthony Shaughnessy, and Ciaran Walshe put a lot of hard work into creating the photoshoot, and Anthony's photo was everywhere on socials last week. Thanks, as ever to our media friends for continuing to tell the city and the wider country, all about what we do at the PorterShed.
Our NDRC Office Hours continued this week as more early-stage entrepreneurs sought out advice from our in-house start-up experts. The series takes place every Friday from 10 am to 12 pm, and it's a fantastic way for founders to ask questions, get advice, and seek the guidance they need to reach the next stage of their journey. Make sure to visit the NDRC website to find out more and apply!

On Friday, we held an NDRC Pre-Accelerator Showcase watch party at our Bowling Green location. It was awesome to watch all of the pitches taking place from 21 pre-seed start-ups throughout the two-hour session, and there was a great turnout at the RDI Hub as people also turned up in person to hear all of the amazing ideas that so many smart people have come up with. We were particularly thrilled to see Tonnta's Diarmaid O Fátharta and Xplore Local's Colin Hanley deliver top-notch pitches on the day, and there was a big gang of us here in the kitchen watching on and cheering as they took to the stage. We love to see our members getting out there and doing what they love, so well done to them for all of their hard work - and congratulations to everybody who took part in a successful demo day.
