My personal conclusion after 4 weeks of using the Rabbit r1
- No problems, installed via laptop, worked immediately.
- Apple Music: works perfectly, but the player is no fun, freezes after a while, no playlists, no overview
- I don't use Spotify
- Uber: connected, but not yet used
- I don't use Doordash
- Midjourney: worked after I switched my Discord account to English. AI photos are generated
- Suno: works well with free Suno account and generates nice songs
- Brightness: minimal is enough for me, should have a positive effect on battery life
- Bluetooth: connects to Alexa Dot and Air Pods Pro without any problems
- Network: connected to various WLANs without any problems, hotspot to iPhone 14 Pro doesn't work, no SIM installed
- Conversations with r1 are possible at any time at ChatGPT level, questions are also answered reliably Unfortunately, hallucinations too: Jan Delay concert in Paderborn instead of Cologne was only corrected after I pointed it out
- Better Rabbit Mode (beta function): then the r1 asks questions in dialog mode, quite nice
- The r1 saves everything you give it, e.g. my name, the names of family members, hometown, hobbies However, it does not find any personal information from LinkedIn etc. on its own
- Weather report: also works without a location if you have taught the Rabbit your home location, but still in Fahrenheit by default as long as you don't explicitly ask for Celsius
- Meeting recorder: very useful, even 4-hour meetings were recorded without any problems (power cable was connected), so you can listen to the replay later at any time in the rabbit hole, but the summary is still poor - at least for German meetings: 5 -6 short lines that only give a rudimentary idea of the meaning
- Magic Camera: you take a photo of any subject and this is then converted into an AI image, nice feature that is currently flooding the rabbit forums
- Camera with explanation function: you hold the button while taking the picture and ask the r1 something, e.g. “what do you see on this image?” (Then release the button). In the best case scenario, you get a correct description of the object, plant or whatever you are photographing. However, when I tried to photograph my damaged and poor lawn to find out how I could spruce it up, he just congratulated me on the great garden overall. He seems to be an optimist.
- Notes: works
- Translations: work very well, you can also have texts photographed and translated
- Language: so far the r1 only understands English, it understands my sometimes incorrect English very well and I almost never have to repeat anything
- Battery life: ok for me, but it doesn't last a whole day of use
- Rabbit Hole Journal: for me, everything is displayed in the Rabbit Hole Journal without any problems and can therefore be analyzed later, Security: no idea, but it's better not to store internal company information there
- The R1 does not yet support navigation services
- So far no timer and no alarm clock. And no games either.
- Similar to the camera, it would be nice if the r1 could also identify noises, e.g. dogs barking by breed. But it can't yet
- The R1 does not reveal any internal information, e.g. about cloud storage used, update functions, etc., but a list of useful prompts is always available
- Every Thursday there is an update with bug fixes and sometimes new features (however, bugs have also been added in the past, e.g. Apple Music didn't work for 2 weeks)
- Technically no major problems, the r1 runs stably including Rabbit hole
- I just like to pick up the little orange r1 from time to time
- Communication with the r1 (in English) runs smoothly and is fun
- I also use the meeting recorder and translations as my main functions
- I remain optimistic and hope for future features
- For 200 USD, it's done everything right so far, but the r1 is still a little way from being an iPhone killer
