So many of us were ready for the calendar to change from 2020 to 2021…well, how is that working out so far?
For a good number of us, 2020 was the year of significant career change. Some were voluntary changes; unfortunately, many were not. Changing careers/jobs/industries does not have to be scary (at all)…really! In fact, there is a lot to celebrate when taking your next step.
A Joblist survey conducted in 2019 explores causes and effects of professional changes. When asked how their new career compares to their previous job, 77% were happier, 69% felt more fulfilled, and 65% were less stressed. 75% of participants said they were more satisfied. However, it is important to remember that satisfaction for you and fulfillment for me is slightly different for everyone. Changing careers is the perfect opportunity to figure out what truly matters to you; finding that BEST JOB that makes you happy to go to work every day is a noble pursuit. Keep reading; let’s get you there!
So, if you are TRULY ready to take the leap of faith but have no idea what to do or how to do it…This is where a professional recruiter comes into focus. Much like changing careers, there are multiple benefits to using a recruiter to aid your job search.
- They only want the best for both candidates AND clients. Their number one goal is to save time and frustration for everyone.
- Recruiting firms want your search to be worthwhile. They will fight to get you things you haven’t even thought of yet. You need to focus on the interview process, proper follow-up, and maintaining momentum!
- A recruiter is only going to take you places worth going to and they know exactly how to get there.
- Recruiters know of opportunities far and wide. Your next career could be your new adventure. Always maintain an open mind!
Switching careers can be life changing. Embracing the change is what gives you the power to determine how it will define you.
