Four solid leadership principles
For me the art and passion for leadership is a crucial component largely missing from our current culture. Right from the leaders of the country to grassroots levels of leadership in schools.
I personally believe, if we can get leadership right a significant amount of our cultural, social, and economic challenges would reduce dramatically.
What strikes me is how many people in influential positions have no plan or intentionality around improving their leadership skills. If a footballer didn’t work on his passing or a doctor wasn’t keeping up to date with the latest medical advances, we would be surprised however for some reason a leader staying stagnant is accepted?
If leadership improves within a business, educational institution, football club dare I say the home this has a positive effect on everyone they lead and influence. This is a huge responsibility.
Below I have highlighted four pillars of Leadership
Vision
As a leader you must have a vision for the business, the people you lead and a vision for yourself.

How can anyone lead and responsibly inspire others to follow if the leader doesn’t have a clear vision of where they want to get to. Your vision should be inclusive, meaningful, and ambitious with an infinite perspective.
Actions
Leaders naturally have a bias for action. I’m not speaking about recklessness or a lack of planning, but leaders do, try and initiate. As a leader do you cause projects, facilitate others to grow and influence new ideas.
Stability
According to a well-established leadership study by Bain & Company centeredness is the most important quality of a leader. This may seem contradictory to action however were describing your emotional state. You have a calm, resilience and assurance which enables psychological safety a platform for growth, creativity, and solutions
Love of people
Most important of all is a leader should have a concern for people. This is not an emotional fuzzy feeling but a foundational value which holds all individuals with appreciation and respect. This is an attitude which always sees the potential in others and wants the best for their people.
