Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club Orlando Sets Tone for Luxury Experiences

The Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is a luxurious escape that seamlessly ties together the best of resort life and private club membership at its Golf and Sports Club.

“Seamless” really is the key to guest and member experiences at The Four Seasons Resort Orlando. From the Tom Fazio-designed Tranquilo Golf Course to the hiking trails and tennis courts ro the Resort’s pools and Spa, the Four Seasson Golf and Sports Club sets the tone at Central Florida’s only Five Diamond Award property.

“As we started the process (of creating the Golf and Sports Club in 2018) we concluded that it needs to be more than just golf. It has to be all the nuances the resort has to offer,’’ said Club General Manager Joe Angelino, Club General Manager. “What you get here, you just can’t get just at any other golf course in regards to quality of facilities.

“Although we have a great golf course, people join for more than just the golf experience. They join for the social and family activities.’’

Indeed. Club?members each have unlimited use of the resort’s fitness center, including on-demand digital classes; use of the three Har-Tru tennis courts, as well as sand volleyball court and basketball court; invitations to member-only events; savings in the Resort’s Spa, salon and restaurants, and access to the resort’s five-acre water park and adult-only pool with an upgraded membership option. And it’s all set inside the gates of Disney World.

“We realized that the more people are engaged in other (amenities) at the property, they happier they are,’’ Angelino said. “The happier they are means they will stay longer.’’

The result? The Club currently has more than 218 members.

“Less than three years ago we had 70,’’ he said. “We started at the beginning of 2018 with zero. So, it’s been a quick ride.’’

Tranquilo Golf Course is the engine of that ride – and the Club’s centerpiece. An outstanding 6,901-yard (par 71) layout, Tranquilo shows off some of the best of Fazio’s design philosophies, including contoured fairways and flash bunkers. As with most Fazio designs, there’s not much “hidden’’ trouble, making Tranquilo ideal for resort guests and members.

In addition, deer, turkey and osprey call Tranquilo home. Each are routinely spotted around the course, particularly in the early morning and late evening hours.

“It’s a complete form of escape out there,’’ Angelino said. “There are only two holes where you see buildings after you tee off. The front side has the look of courses in Georgia and the Carolinas. The 10th?hole has a lot of oak trees. And when you get to No. 17, you’re back in the tall pines.’’

While the tall pines, oak trees and wildlife combine to create memorable golf experiences, what truly sets Tranquilo apart from other resort courses (and some private courses) in Central Florida is accessibility and pace of play.

For example, Angelino said, tee times the first two hours of each day are reserved only for Club members. Resort guests can get tee times after 9:30 am.

“Most of the time our members just show up,’’ Angelino said. “It sounds chaotic, but it’s really not. What we offer here, no other club can offer. We probably have more elbow room per golfer than any private club in the area. We are going to be very protective of that moving forward and as our membership grows.’’
