Four Resources to Help You Be Job Search Ready

Four Resources to Help You Be Job Search Ready

Lately, I’ve been sharing this idea of being “job search ready,” as a strategy for creating a plan of action for the breadth of active and potential job seekers that exist right now.

If you find yourself looking for a job - or thinking that you may need to look for a job -  a “job search ready” approach helps take your first steps and take control over a potential transition.

In our experience, having a plan reduces panic and provides tangible action steps that you can focus on, and ultimately adjust, if necessary.

For professionals in the midst of a job search or career change already, I want to encourage you to continue asking big questions about your values and goals and to continue the work of your transition - because new roles are out there every day!

If you’re struggling with how to modify your search or get things done right now, our “job search ready” approach will help you break the process down, set reasonable goals and offer some tips on making the most of your time and energy right now.

Ultimately, we want our clients to feel prepared - and we want them to continue their job search efforts so that they have options in the weeks and months to come.

Here are four resources to help you be job search ready, if you’d like to feel prepared and manage your career goals through the uncertain days ahead.

  • How to Be Job Search Ready Live Workshop: I offered this webinar earlier this month in partnership with our friends at General Assembly and over 300 people registered! I’m hosting a final, free round as a small group workshop later this month. Bring your questions and learn how our job search framework can work for you right now.
  • You can always grab a copy of our Uncomplicate Your Job Search Workbook. It’s been downloaded over 600 times! We’ll walk you through our framework that’s been helping our clients land new jobs for nearly six years. We’ve included writing prompts, reflection questions and links to our best resources to help you get started.
  • In the early days of Covid-19, we polled our audience, collected their questions and responded via Instagram Live. If you missed it, no worries. You can check out our blog post version here.
  • My friend (and brand designer!) Bonnie Bryant O’Connor invited me on her podcast to discuss what to do if you're laid off, if it’s worth starting your career change (spoiler alert: it is!), and how to be job search ready if you’re worried about potentially losing your job. We chatted for over an hour and you can listen to it here.

This week, we’re also opening up enrollment to join Work Wonders & Co., our group program and community for job seekers.

We’re also excited to offer a brand new payment plan, making our live monthly calls, on demand video library, exercises, and templates more accessible than ever.

We have an incredible community now and I’m thrilled to welcome our May cohort later this month.

A big part of our strategy is not to tackle your job search or transition alone.

Receiving the support of peers, having an accountability buddy, or connecting with experts can make the process much easier and efficient.

Like many aspects of the job search process, that’s more true than ever before.

We’re here to help you take control of your career during these challenging times. Don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything that we can do to support you!
