Think of the bad guy in every story.
In the movies the bad guy loses. Off screen its different, isn’t it? Bad people seem to win at the game of life. And you, the good lady is unable to stop their march onwards.
The unethical. Boorish. Sexist. Racist. Snake oil saleswo(man). You got the gist. They do wrong without blinking a goddamn eye & justify the unjustifiable. They also have a massive fan following. Think Uncle Trump of the red- haired fame when he promised to create a more insular America. His fans went frenzy with joy.
Closer home, you might be witness to their rise in workplaces. They are the ones who play the dirty games at work. The team leaders who would gladly kick their team underwater when push comes to shove, than step in to rescue. Or the snarky ones who dip their hands in the company till when no one’s watching.
So, is the World over run by bad people? Will you get better returns on your existential investment by being a bad person? Will being bad have consequences?
Four reasons why bad people seem to be winning everywhere:

1. Bad people don’t have a problem breaking rules
‘Good’ is a loaded & binary word. When you are a good person, you get side-tracked into doing the socially acceptable thing. That’s a mistake. Your choices become limited & you feel a little resentful about fitting in the box. Be wary my friend, ‘good’ pulls you into the danger zone of becoming inflexible.
You hold stubbornly to society’s rules that make no ethical sense. The bad guy meanwhile is grinning his way to the finish line breaking as many rules as he can.
2. Good people are armchair critics of bad people
Good people talk about what’s wrong with the world. The global energy crisis, political factions in their little town or Meghan Markle’s royal escapades. Nothing escapes their notice. When things don’t go their way, they whine about how the World is unkind to good people. Sound familiar? You want your God to deal with bad people so they won’t get in your entitled way. That’s armchair criticism ??. What about you getting off your backside and (oh the horror) actually doing something to make the World better? All criticism & no work probably deal Jack & Jane their losing hand. The bad guy in the meanwhile is out in the trenches, flexing his muscles in the real world.
3. Bad people are bad for a reason
Let’s not take this away from the bad fellas. Bad people show their nasty side because they have a goal in mind. Seen Kanye West throwing tantrums like a 2 year old? He’s doing it for the publicity. When the bad ones focus on a goal & act out, the Universe responds. By giving them what they want.
4. Lights, camera, action!
There are more good than bad people in the world. To set the record straight for cynical you. The reason you don’t see the good is because it’s passive. Good people make no difference whatsoever to the World.?The bad ones are different. They act & so they make an impact, albeit of the bad kind.?Action wins over being passive. The bad guy wins.
